--F/C Sean Williams got another shot to keep his claim at a rotation spot Sunday in Phoenix. Williams, in his previous nine games, had scored 17 points -- while committing 18 fouls. Stromile Swift is making a big play for Williams' minutes. Swift impressed in his season debut Saturday in Utah but quickly got into foul trouble Sunday. Swift could become the Nets' first big body off the bench. He had been out since Oct. 17 when he bruised his lower back in a fall.
"I've got to do what I do and hopefully earn minutes like that," said Swift. "(Williams) is still a young player and he's going to have some good moments and he's going to have some other times where he has some struggles ... Sean is going through the normal learning curve all young players go through," coach Lawrence Frank said.
--Vince Carter and Devin Harris entered Sunday night both averaging 23.5 points. With Harris ranked seventh and Carter ranked eight, it marked the first time in the NBA history of the Nets that they had two players in the league's top 10 in scoring, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
And the duo remain the highest scoring backcourt in the NBA, especially after Harris tortured the Suns for 47 points and Carter went off for 28 in the road upset of Phoenix. The pair came out of Sunday averaging a combined 49.1 points.
