New Jersey Nets Notes, Quotes 2008-12-03
--G Devin Harris has had a major impact on the Nets this season -- both on and off the court. On Monday, Harris was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week after directing the Nets' to a shocking 3-1 road that included wins in Utah and Phoenix, the latter where the Nets had not won since 1993. After Tuesday's home loss, Harris is averaging 24.8 points and is in the NBA's top 10.

Off the court, Harris is featured on an 80-x-60 foot billboard in Times Square, sponsored by IZOD, showing a list of upcoming games at the Nets' IZOD Center arena. After his career-high 47-point game Sunday, the Nets were quick to offer a Devin Harris $47 ticket offer. And Harris also was scheduled to appear at a major department store this week to sign autographs, with 10 percent of proceeds from the store's men's and kid's wear departments going to Harris' foundation.

--It is puzzling, but the Nets are trying not to make a big deal out of their home-road situation. On the road, they've been better than good, posting a 6-3 record and averaging 105.3 points a game. At home, after Tuesday's disappointing 20-point wipeout by Washington, the Nets are 3-5, averaging 96.3 points per.

"It's kind of coincidental," offered coach Lawrence Frank after the loss to the Wizards. "Those games we played (at home) we played poorly and deserved to lose. The game against Detroit we played well and deserved to win, the game against the Clippers we played well and deserved to well. You've got to play well regardless of where the game's played in order to win. Tonight, we didn't (play well), like some other games here."

QUOTE TO NOTE: "It's up to Devin (Harris) and myself to really set the bar and set the tone for the next game now. That's what I feel is needed, so I refuse to let us take a step back." -- Vince Carter, after the Nets got trounced at home in their first game back from their Thanksgiving Week trip.
