--F Sean Williams, the first-round pick in 2007, was assigned to Colorado of the D-League in an attempt to get him playing time and possibly have him learn both forward positions. Williams was totally out of the rotation with the Nets, last playing Dec. 12.
"Sean is a young player; lots of talent. Needs to play. That's the bottom line," said general manager Kiki Vandeweghe. "We just felt as a young player and with him not being in the rotation, the most important thing was for him to play," said coach Lawrence Frank. "We basically looked at Colorado's schedule and looked at our schedule and said, 'When are we not going to have a great deal of practice time and when are they going to have the most amount of games?' This time made the most sense."
--The Nets had no intention of matching the 3-year, $15.6-million offer sheet presented to Nenad Krstic by the Oklahoma City Thunder. Technically, they had until midnight but Monday before the game with Chicago, GM Kiki Vandeweghe did not foresee any movement.
