New Jersey Nets Notes, Quotes 2009-11-11

New Jersey Nets Notes, Quotes 2009-11-11--The Nets did not seem overly concerned about the contagious aspects of teammate Chris Douglas-Roberts, who was diagnosed with swine flu. Douglas-Roberts was quarantined for 24 hours and the players have been prescribed a medication.

"Everyone takes Tamiflu; it's a tablet. You take one a day for the next 10 days," coach Lawrence Frank offered.

"They gave us one pill that is supposed to (stop) the spread of it," said Jarvis Hayes. "But right now they've got him quarantined and hopefully that will prevent the spread to the rest of us. But it's nothing that serious. He's doing a lot better."

--The Nets are 0-7 after back-to-back defeats Friday and Saturday. But both of those games the Nets felt they easily could have won. So despite stressing negatives, the Nets are excited about the improvements they are making -- especially with seven players in the infirmary. The Nets firmly believe when they get healthy, they will right themselves.

"We definitely are (improving)," insisted Brook Lopez. "It's just a matter of team chemistry, getting used to having these pieces. Being without Devin, Yi, Courtney, CD-R, obviously that's pretty rough but we've got guys who've been there every day in practice, working really hard and pushing us. So it doesn't surprise me at all that it translates to the game."

Said coach Lawrence Frank, "Sometimes when you are in that forest, it's hard to see in between those trees. In the process, we are getting better and the numbers will take care of themselves in terms of the wins and losses. If we continue to plug away, we'll get the wins that we deserve to get."

QUOTE TO NOTE: "No, I went to the grocery store this morning and there were a lot of people coughing there, too. It's something in the air that's going on right now." -- F Bobby Simmons, explaining he is not overly concerned about the swine flu despite having the locker stall next to Chris Douglas-Roberts, who was diagnosed with the illness.
