--The Nets' worst start in franchise history has hit 15 games, which also is tied for the fourth-worst start in NBA history. The 1988-89 Heat and the 1998-99 Clippers each started with an all-time worst 0-17. The Clippers also achieved infamy in 1994-95 with 16 straight defeats. The Nets have joined the 1949-50 Denver Nuggets, the 1970-71 Cavaliers and the 1972-73 Sixers with 15 consecutive defeats to start the season. The Nets could tie the record if they fail to win on their current road trip, with games remaining against the Kings and Lakers.
"You have to be mentally into it and every day has to be a work day; you can't come here with the attitude of 'here we go again,'" said PG Rafer Alston. "We have to come every day and be ready to take on the challenge."
--The losing is creeping into the Nets' minds more and more. G Devin Harris admitted after the team fell to 0-15 that sleep is getting harder to come by. And G Chris Douglas-Roberts longs for fun again.
"This is bad. I'm miserable. Basketball is what makes me happy. It's always made me happy my whole life, but the losing is depressing, miserable," Douglas-Roberts said.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "You walk into that locker room and it's like a morgue because they are laying it all out there." -- Coach Lawrence Frank, after his Nets fell to 0-15.
