"He's anxious to get back out. He's watched every game and why couldn't we do this, I could have helped," Vandeweghe said. "It's been two weeks now. And I can tell you from experience, it starts to really bother you." Yi is out for up to a month. When he was injured, he was on the best streak of the season.
--C Brook Lopez was chosen to play in the Rookie Challenge at NBA All-Star Weekend in Phoenix. Lopez thus becomes the eighth Nets rookie to appear in the game. Before 2000, the game was solely among rookies.
The other Nets rookies who have been in the game were P.J. Brown (1994), Kerry Kittles (1997), Keith Van Horn (1998), Stephen Jackson and Kenyon Martin (2001), Marcus Williams (2007) and Sean Williams (2008). Three Nets have played as sophomores: Martin (2002), Richard Jefferson (2003) and Nenad Krstic (2006).
"Obviously I'm excited. I'm jazzed, the whole thing. It's a great honor," said Lopez.
