PLAYER NOTES --F Stromile Swift had been out since Oct. 17 when he suffered a nasty fall in practice. So his progress was slow but gradual, and finally he made his season debut Saturday in the Nets' 105-88 wipeout of the Jazz in Utah. Swift played nine-plus minutes, scored three points and grabbed five rebounds. "I just wanted to see what I could do. I knew I wouldn't play big minutes, just in spurts," he said.
--G Devin Harris scored 34 points Saturday at Utah. It was the fifth career game of 30 or more points for Harris, with all of them coming this season. His career high entering this season had been 27 points, set with the Nets last March.
--G Keyon Dooling, who was coming off a superb bounce-back game in Sacramento after a scoreless clunker in Los Angeles, played Saturday in Utah, despite missing the morning workout with a bad cold. The ailing Dooling played 17 minutes, scored five points and passed for three assists.
MEDICAL WATCH:
--G Chris Douglas-Roberts practiced Friday and is ready to return from a sprained right knee. Coach Lawrence Frank did not suit up Douglas-Roberts on Saturday but could use him Sunday in Phoenix.
--F Stromile Swift (bruised lower back) has been out since preseason. Swift has been dressing for several games and finally made his season debut Saturday.
--C Josh Boone was sent home from the trip as his left ankle bone bruise was just not improving. He is scheduled for an MRI on Monday. By then, he'll have missed nine games.
--F Eduardo Najera will not rejoin the Nets on the western trip as was originally planned. Najera is still rehabbing a strained lower back.
