New Jersey Nets Roster Report 2008-12-01

New Jersey Nets Roster Report 2008-12-01
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Devin Harris, Shooting guard Vince Carter, Small forward Bobby Simmons, Power forward Yi Jianlian, Center Brook Lopez. Bench -- Guard Keyon Dooling, Forward Jarvis Hayes, Forward Ryan Anderson, Center Sean Williams, Forward Stromile Swift.

PLAYER NOTES:

--G Devin Harris continues on a magnificent roll. In his last 10 games, nine of them since returning from a left ankle sprain, Harris has averaged 29.2 points. Those 10 games include the first 30-point games of Harris career and that batch contains his career high of 47 that he scored Sunday at Phoenix. "Phenomenal," was coach Lawrence Frank's assessment.

--G/F Trenton Hassell has been out of the rotation, but he made a major contribution with his defense in the endgame Sunday in Phoenix. And it was Hassell who stepped in against Amare Stoudemire to jaw early in the fourth quarter, earning a double technical: a huge play because Stoudemire was hit with a second T six minutes later. "It won't show up in the box score but his impact was great," coach Lawrence Frank said of Hassell.

--G Vince Carter has been the Nets "closer" but welcomes the addition of Devin Harris, who has emerged as the team's leading scorer. "Coach is putting him in position where he can succeed," Carter said. "We run things that are good for his game. It's, 'Here, Vince, you go,' or 'Here, Devin, you go.' We have confidence we can make plays."

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Chris Douglas-Roberts suited up Sunday after sitting 12 games with a sprained right knee. He did not play but was available.

--C Josh Boone was sent home from the trip as his left ankle bone bruise was just not improving. He is scheduled for an MRI Monday. By then, he'll have missed nine games.

--F Eduardo Najera will not rejoin the Nets on the western trip as was originally planned. Najera is still rehabbing a strained lower back.

--G Keyon Dooling sat Sunday in Phoenix because of an illness bug that has run through the team.

--G/F Jarvis Hayes played Sunday but was limited because of irritation in his right shoulder.
