ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Devin Harris, Shooting guard Courtney Lee, Small forward Chris Douglas-Roberts, Power forward Yi Jianlian, Center Brook Lopez. Bench -- Guard Rafer Alston, Forward/Guard Terrence Williams, Forward Jarvis Hayes, Forward Bobby Simmons, Center Josh Boone. PLAYER NOTES: --F/G Chris Douglas-Roberts began training camp as a projected bench player but through attitude, talent and an injury to Jarvis Hayes, won the starting small forward job. Douglas-Roberts led the Nets in pre-season scoring at 18.0 points per game.
"I'm not getting overly excited because I'm a part of this team and aside from starting I want to win," Douglas-Roberts said. "That's what I'm focused on."
--C Brook Lopez was dominant for over three quarters Wednesday in the Nets season-opener. He finished with 27 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks but was scoreless in the fourth quarter.
"I missed a couple of bunnies. Lost the ball," Lopez said. "It wasn't so much what they did but what I didn't do."
--G Courtney Lee had a cold start to his Nets career, shooting 2-of-11 from the floor.
"The shots came easy, I just didn't knock them down," Lee said. "I'm not worried."
MEDICAL WATCH:
--F Jarvis Hayes left Wednesday's game after just 2:20 because of a strained left hamstring. He will be re-evaluated when the team returns to New Jersey.
--G Keyon Dooling (hip surgery rehab) underwent an arthroscopic procedure after last season. He is working his way back and has targeted mid to late November for his return.
--F/C Tony Battie underwent an MRI on his sore right knee Monday. He said doctors found the expected wear and tear but that he and the team will seek a second opinion to determine the cause of the pain. He did half practices in training camp and there is no timetable for a return.
