ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Rafer Alston, Shooting guard Courtney Lee, Small forward Trenton Hassell, Power forward Eduardo Najera, Center Brook Lopez. Bench -- Forward Bobby Simmons, Forward Josh Boone, Forward Terrence Williams. PLAYER NOTES: --F Trenton Hassell got his first start of the year, filling in for the ailing Chris Douglas-Roberts. And Hassell was a game day decision as coach Lawrence Frank originally planned to start rookie Terrence Williams at the three. But Frank said "the logic behind it is (Williams) is our only backup point guard" and early foul trouble could be dangerous. So Hassell started and collected a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds.
--C Brook Lopez, who had 18 double-doubles as a rookie last season, collected his second of the new campaign Friday in Philadelphia. Lopez had 22 points and 11 rebounds and that came after 21 total rebounds in his four previous games. Lopez had 27 points and 15 rebounds on opening night.
--F Chris Douglas-Roberts is expected back -- or at least the Nets really hope he's back -- Saturday night for a home game against the Boston Celtics. Douglas-Roberts became the latest Nets' casualty when he was stricken with flu-like symptoms and did not even travel to Philadelphia for Friday's game. His absence left the Nets with nine able bodies -- and that became eight when G Courtney Lee was hurt.
MEDICAL WATCH:
--G Courtney Lee left Friday's game early in the third quarter with a left groin strain. He said he has not ruled out playing on Saturday.
--F Chris Douglas-Roberts is day-to-day with the flu. He did not play Friday.
--F Yi Jianlian is out with a sprained right knee. He is expected out anywhere from 3-5 weeks.
--G Devin Harris visited a specialist in Chicago and the exam confirmed the original prognosis of a strained right groin. Harris said this week he should be out longer than anticipated, perhaps another two weeks.
--F Jarvis Hayes remains out having left the season opener after just 2:20 with a left hamstring injury. Hayes is expected out for another week.
--G Keyon Dooling (hip surgery rehab) underwent an arthroscopic procedure after last season. He is working his way back and has targeted mid-to-late November for his return. He has begun working at shoot-arounds.
--F/C Tony Battie underwent an MRI on his sore right knee last week and no structural damage was found. There is no timetable for a return.
