ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Rafer Alston, Shooting guard Trenton Hassell, Small forward Bobby Simmons, Power forward Josh Boone, Center Brook Lopez. Bench -- Forward Eduardo Najera, Guard Terrence Williams, Center Sean Williams. PLAYER NOTES: --G Courtney Lee insisted he could have played Saturday but was held out strictly as a precaution against the Celtics. Lee suffered a strained left groin Friday in Philadelphia and expects to be ready for the rematch with the Sixers Wednesday in New Jersey. "I'm playing Wednesday. I'm going. I'm a young guy. I heal like a mule. All I need is rest," Lee said.
--F Josh Boone got his first start of the season Saturday when coach Lawrence Frank went with a big lineup against the Celtics. With just eight players, Frank had few options but Boone rewarded the move with a strong defensive effort against Kevin Garnett and a season-high 12 rebounds.
--G Rafer Alston, originally penciled in as the third point guard, started his fifth straight game Saturday. And for the second straight night, he logged over 40 minutes. He played 40 in Philadelphia Friday, 44 against the Celtics Saturday. "I'm feeling great. I'm in great shape to do it. I'm glad and thankful for it. Too many turnovers from me, though," said Alston, who had a season-high 20 points but committed six turnovers.
MEDICAL WATCH:
