New Jersey Nets Roster Report 2009-11-18

New Jersey Nets Roster Report 2009-11-18The lineup has been changing game to game, based on availability of players and matchups.

ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Rafer Alston, Shooting guard Trenton Hassell, Small forward Chris Douglas-Roberts, Power forward Terrence Williams, Center Brook Lopez. Bench -- Forward Josh Boone, Forward Eduardo Najera, Forward Bobby Simmons, Center Sean Williams.

--F/C Josh Boone was back on the bench after four straight starts -- but only because of matchups. "I'm going to continue to give Josh another shot at it. Josh played three very good games, and the Orlando game I'd throw out because of matchups," said coach Lawrence Frank, alluding to Boone's struggles against an athletic Magic front line. So against Indiana, Frank brought Boone off the bench because the Pacers went with a small lineup.

--G Chris Douglas-Roberts played his third game and was back in the starting lineup for the first time since returning from a bout with swine flu. Douglas-Roberts played 18 minutes in his first game back then jumped to 36 on Saturday before playing 44 against Indiana. "I really felt good. I heard at one point in the game (Saturday) coach was like, 'We need to give Chris a blow,' and I told him, 'No, I don't need a blow,'" Douglas-Roberts said. "I recovered pretty fast." Douglas-Roberts, who said he is at about 80 percent, had his career night, posting personal bests in points (27) and rebounds (12).

--C Brook Lopez admitted he was "sluggish" at the start, which helped lead to his 10-of-27 shooting night against the Pacers. But Lopez collected his fourth double-double of the season with 26 points and a season-high 16 rebounds. He also tied a personal best with five blocks.

--F Eduardo Najera was scratched with a sore back and also is out Wednesday. He is day to day.

--G Courtney Lee remains day to day with a strained groin. He missed his fifth straight game Tuesday and also will sit Wednesday.

--F Yi Jianlian is out with a sprained right knee. He is expected to miss up to another month.

--G Devin Harris is getting close to a return from his right groin strain. He has only played two games and was hoping to play Wednesday in Milwaukee but admitted Saturday is more realistic.

--F Jarvis Hayes remains sidelined since straining his hamstring in the season opener. He is doing shooting but is out indefinitely.

--G Keyon Dooling (hip surgery rehab) underwent an arthroscopic procedure after last season. He is working his way back and has targeted mid-to-late November for his return.

--F/C Tony Battie has been fitted for a brace on his right knee after receiving a second opinion. There is no timetable for a return. He has been out since preseason.
