New Jersey Nets Roster Report 2009-01-31

New Jersey Nets Roster Report 2009-01-31
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Devin Harris, Shooting guard Vince Carter, Small forward Bobby Simmons, Power forward Ryan Anderson, Center Brook Lopez. Bench -- Guard Keyon Dooling, Forward Eduardo Najera, Center Josh Boone, Forward Jarvis Hayes.

PLAYER NOTES:

--G Devin Harris admitted that some down play recently had him thinking he might fall short of being selected for the All-Star Game. But Harris was voted on by the coaches, becoming just the 11th different Net to be an All-Star.

"I was a little nervous. Obviously some more people were a little more confident about it than I was. I hadn't been playing at the level I'd been playing at earlier in the season. I've been struggling a little bit the last week or so," Harris said.

--C Brook Lopez had a strong start for the Nets but early foul trouble waylaid what was building as a solid performance. Lopez finished with 15 points and five rebounds with 6-of-12 shooting in 25 minutes Friday.

"He got some tough calls tonight," G Vince Carter admitted afterwards.

--C Josh Boone took advantage of Brook Lopez' foul trouble Friday and played 22 minutes, his longest sting in 11 games. Boone scored 10 points -- the entire Nets bench only had 16. And Boone shot 5-of-7, avoiding a problem many Nets experienced: blown gimme shots.

"We're getting a lot of easy looks at the rim, we're just not really converting. We've just got to keep working and for the big guys, we've got to dunk the ball more."

MEDICAL WATCH:

--F Yi Jianlian is out for up to another month with a broken right pinkie.
