New Jersey Nets Roster Report 2009-03-19

New Jersey Nets Roster Report 2009-03-19
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Keyon Dooling, Shooting guard Vince Carter, Small forward Trenton Hassell, Power forward Yi Jianlian, Center Brook Lopez. Bench -- Forward Jarvis Hayes, Forward Bobby Simmons, Center Josh Boone, Guard Chris Douglas-Roberts, Guard Mo Ager, Forward Ryan Anderson.

PLAYER NOTES:

--C Brook Lopez served as a hub to the Nets' offense at times Wednesday against the Knicks, scoring 23 points and passing for a career high eight assists.

"The team did a good job of getting me the ball in places where I could score and I tried to return the favor," Lopez.

--G Vince Carter was on the verge of coming out in the second quarter as coach Lawrence Frank wanted to pull Carter after the first 14 minutes. But Carter wouldn't oblige, scoring the Nets' first 17 points.

"He just had it going. We've seen a lot of Vince like that," Frank said. Carter finished with 29 points for a three-game total of 102.

--G Chris Douglas-Roberts made the most of his opportunity Wednesday, scoring a personal-best 14 points. Douglas-Roberts said he learned from his mistake: earlier in the year he got a chance and wasn't ready. This time he was.

"To his credit, he's worked extremely hard every single day," coach Lawrence Frank said.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Devin Harris underwent an MRI Tuesday and it confirmed the original diagnosis that he suffered a sprained left shoulder Sunday in his fall against the Clippers Sunday. The MRI also revealed a strained deltoid muscle.

--F Eduardo Najera is through for the season after undergoing successful sports hernia surgery Mar. 13.
