New Jersey Nets Roster Report 2009-04-01

New Jersey Nets Roster Report 2009-04-01
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Devin Harris, Shooting guard Vince Carter, Small forward Trenton Hassell, Power forward Ryan Anderson, Center Brook Lopez. Bench -- Guard Keyon Dooling, Forward Jarvis Hayes, Forward Yi Jianlian, Center Josh Boone, G Chris Douglas-Roberts.

PLAYER NOTES:

--F Jarvis Hayes was back with the Nets after missing Sunday in Minnesota to be with his wife, Illia, for the birth of the couple's first child, Jarvis James Hayes II. How could he leave? "We're going for the playoffs," Hayes said, noting, "Obviously, I had to get her blessing. She said she was cool with it." Hayes played 20 minutes, scored four points.

--F Yi Jianlian, after being yanked from the rotation, played a second straight game out of necessity as Bobby Simmons was out again with an upper back contusion. Yi who has struggled since his return from a broken pinkie -- his 10-point game Sunday was only his second double-figure effort in 19 games -- scored 11 points in 19 minutes, shooting 2-of-5 against Milwaukee Monday.

--G Maurice Ager's playing time was indicative of how lopsided the Nets' loss to the Bucks was on Monday night. Ager played 17 minutes in the Nets second worst home loss of the season -- and that more than doubled his previous high of seven minutes. Ager also scored a season-high seven points.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--F Eduardo Najera is through for the season after undergoing successful sports hernia surgery Mar. 13.

--F Bobby Simmons missed his second straight game with an upper back contusion. He received acupuncture treatment and hopes to play Wednesday.
