New Jersey Nets Roster Report 2009-04-02

New Jersey Nets Roster Report 2009-04-02
--Coach Lawrence Frank made a lineup change Wednesday and said there may be more as the Nets look at all combinations in the closing games. So Wednesday, Keyon Dooling started at shooting guard, Vince Carter moved to small forward as Trenton Hassell went to the bench.

ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Devin Harris, Shooting guard Keyon Dooling, Small forward Vince Carter, Power forward Ryan Anderson, Center Brook Lopez. Bench -- Forward Jarvis Hayes, Forward Bobby Simmons, Center Josh Boone, Guard Chris Douglas-Roberts.

PLAYER NOTES:

--F Bobby Simmons, who missed the last two games with what was called an upper back contusion, returned Wednesday against Detroit following visits to an acupuncturist.

"It's sore. It's the first time I ever did it," Simmons said of the treatment which he admitted helped. Simmons played 23 minutes and scored six points.

--F Yi Jianlian admits that some of his struggles may have been the result of a non-stop year that included playing for China in the Olympics. He insists he will get more rest this summer.

"For sure," Yi said of possible fatigue. "After the season, I need to take a rest, especially after the last year, playing for China in the Olympics. And there was a lot of work before that."

Yi did not play Wednesday.

--G Devin Harris, responding to claims the team quit on the season, admitted the team was embarrassed by recent performances but vowed a different result Wednesday. Harris backed it up in a win over Detroit with 19 points, 11 assists and four steals.

"We just went back to the old ways, back to a little bit more of our open stuff," Harris said.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--F Eduardo Najera is through for the season after undergoing successful sports hernia surgery Mar. 13.
