Devin Harris and the New Jersey Nets had an easy time with the defenseless Utah Jazz on Saturday night at EnergySolutions Arena.

Harris scored 34 points and teammate Vince Carter added 22 as New Jersey broke open a close game in the third quarter and crushed Utah, 105-88.

The loss dropped the Jazz to 11-7 on the season and 2-2 during the week, when they played four straight games at home.

The Nets improved to 8-7.

At halftime, New Jersey owned a 59-51 lead.

Harris had 19 points by intermission, while Carter added 12. The Nets shot 56.5 percent from the field against the defenseless Jazz, who owned a 43-41 lead with 4:41 left before New Jersey closed the half on an 18-8 run.

In the third quarter, the Nets took control.

After the Jazz got as close as 64-60, New Jersey scored eight straight points. Yi Jianlian got the Nets started when he took a drive-and-dish pass from Carter and buried a three-pointer.

On the Nets' next possession, Harris drove past Deron Williams and hit Bobby Simmons, whose wide-open 12-footer made it 69-60.

The injury-plagued Jazz continued to play shorthanded, facing the Nets without Carlos Boozer (quad tendon), Brevin Knight (sprained finger), Matt Harpring (strained back) and Jarron Collins (elbow).

In addition, Andrei Kirilenko left the game in the second quarter with an ankle injury and did not return.
