Description: MAYOR BOOKER, NBA, AND DEVILS WELCOME THE NEW JERSEY NETS TO NEWARK AT "THE ROCK", PRUDENTIAL CENTER States NBA franchise making its home at The Rock for 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 seasons; Special discount season tickets will be offered to Newark residents Newark, NJ - March 5, 2010 - Mayor Cory A. Booker, NBA Deputy Commissioner and COO Adam Silver, New Jersey Nets CEO Brett Yormark, New Jersey Devils Chairman and Managing Partner Jeff Vanderbeek, and Newark Regional Business Partnership President & CEO Chip Hallock, Jr., discussed the Nets interim relocation to the Prudential Center in Newark for the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 seasons during a press conference which was held today in the Verizon Tower of the Prudential Center on the corner of Mulberry and Lafayette Streets. Also in attendance were Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr., State Senator Teresa Ruiz, and members of the Newark Municipal Council. YES Networks play-by-play broadcaster for the Nets, Ian Eagle, served as the Master of Ceremonies. I want to thank the National Basketball Association, the Devils, and the Nets leadership for their support, which has made Newark the new home for the New Jersey Nets. For the residents of the City of Newark, these are not just basketball games. Having the Nets call our city home signifies tangible hope, real inspiration, and many dreams coming true, said Mayor Booker. The Mayor also highlighted economic development created in the City since the Prudential Center opened and said The Rock has had a tremendous impact on Newark from businesses downtown to the Citys cultural institutions. The Nets will be so explosive and successful that the NBA will have to think hard about moving them to Brooklyn. Newark is Americas Number One Comeback City, and I believe in a comeback season for the Nets! During the press conference, the Nets also launched their Its All New campaign. The promotional campaign includes commercials, which glamorize the Prudential Center and the City of Newark AKA "Brick City". Also a Cool Layup shot by Mayor Cory Booker being defended by none other that former NBA Super Star Daryl Dawkins . Thanks for watching BK DIGITAL MEDIA Music "Striving Harder" By J.
